Miky Picon (FRA), last of four Europeans still in the Billabong Pro Tahiti pres. by Air Tahiti Nui, got through his Round 2 match-up against Ben Dunn (AUS) last night, and will now face 2006 ASP Rookie of the Year and former Billabong Pro Tahiti champion Bobby Martinez (USA).

Picon, who posted a solid 15.07 heat tally (out of a possible 20) to defeat Dunn, avoided another last place finish after his 33rd at Bells Beach and hopes to better his best result ever on an ASP World Tour event if he reaches Round 4. Picon, who was among the ASP Top 45 in 2006, never reached Round 4 during his rookie season and will have a chance to advance if he defeats Martinez when competition resumes.
