Easy Aloha Does It!
It's been nearly a week for the Surf Solutions Hawaii team out here on Da North Shore. Nobody has died yet, no boards snapped, a few cuts and bruises and about a thousand waves under the belt. Stoke levels are satelite high with 5.30 morning alarm calls, 3 surfs a day, Ted's bakery stops and this afternoon a canny session at Ala Moana Shopping Mall.
It's been what's known as a 'slow' early season. That basically means that there have been no 10ft plus swells yet. It's been a sweet week for us though, getting into the groove at Rockies, Pipe, Sunset, Lani's and Velzyland. Waves have been in the sort of overhead, 5ft sets sort of vibe everyday and a pretty much non existent crowd factor. That will all change next week after the Brazil 'QS finishes and those scrabbling for strong points and peer kudos decend upon the North Shore like flies. Until then the best of British groms will be putting the hours in the best they can, preparing for that very 'fast' first 10fter.
