Vera in Lacanau
One van, 6 chicks, 11 boards, wanna be singers, 11 hours on the road, destination: France. After listening and singing chick’s music, a lot of gossips and stupid jokes we finally arrived in France, and how good was that!!
Once in Lacanau we just want to surf and have fun, and that was exactly what we did… Me and my great buddy Francisca were staying in this cool place just in front of the see thanks to our super Oakley team manager Yann Martin.
Each morning I woke up really early as usual to check the waves but unfortunately the sight was not very good in the first days, but well even in that super tinny waves we found some good ones that made us happy. After staying with Francisca I spend a couple of days with my little french team mate Fanny and her super cool family.
After some good waves in Lacanau, a few gaufres, parties, Portuguese lessons to the French girls and boys and the great victory of Oakley’s Roman Cloitre in the Lacanau Pro Junior I was on my way to Hossegor. The first night there was just a nightmare, I was so sick that one of my homies (thanks boys) had to carry me to bed ( when the other girls were staying in the van ‘cause we don’t have a place to stay). After staying awake all night long, in the next morning I was even worst…Fortunately I’ve an amazing friend, Arthur Bourbon, who’s always present when I need him(and even when I don’t need him…after all this is what friends do…) and thanks to him (and his good bed) I just get better and better. Once I get better I just want to surf and that’s what I did…After a few surfing sessions in bikini or shorts, good laughs, some dance moves, Roman Cloitre won…again…this time in Hossegor…how amazing is that?! And that was it, after see Roman winning two Pro Juniors, having Francisca saying all time “Vera how do you say this in French?”, spending some time with that good fellows that I don’t see as much as I want to, a few secret adventures, good surf sessions and watch the pros ripping I was again on my way to Portugal.
