If Kauai's Andy Irons can advance through one more round of the Rip Curl Pro Pipeline Masters, a fourth $10,000 Vans Triple Crown of Surfing title will be his, declaring him once more as the top performing surfer across all three venues and events that comprise this esteemed Series.
2006 Nelscott Reef Tow-in Classic
Pro surfers from around the globe converged on the small coastal town of Lincoln City, OR on Friday to ride some of the largest waves on the West Coast. The 2006 Nelscott Reef Tow In Classic, presented by Liquid Militia and the Nelscott Reef Surf Shop, was held Friday December 8th in perfect 30-40’ conditions. The day long contest started just after 8am and the finals were finished 5 minutes after sunset. The winds held off all day, making for glassy conditions for the entire event.

Joel Parkinson Claims 2nd O’Neill World Cup of Surfing
Australian Joel Parkinson has claimed his second O'Neill World Cup of Surfing title in five years with a stunning victory over South African rookie Jordy Smith, three-time Vans Triple Crown and world champion Andy Irons (Kauai, Hawaii), and local surfer Fred Patacchia (Oahu, Hawaii). Parkinson, Irons and Patacchia are now embroiled in a battle for the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing title that will be decided at the third and final event at Pipeline, which gets underway this Friday, December 8. The O'Neill World Cup of Surfing was a $125,000 6-star World Qualifying Series (WQS) event and was the final event of the 2006 WQS season.
