Animal Launches Tarifa Academy

Xcel Pro Surf Contest
Now in its 23 rd year, the 2006 Xcel Pro Presented by No Fear surf contest draws amateurs and aspiring and seasoned professionals to Sunset Beach, one of the world's best surf venues on Oahu's North Shore. For 2006, the event has upgraded to a 4-Star ASP WQS contest with a $75,000 purse.

Island Style South Coast Challenge
Island Style sponsor new event on the British Professional Surfing Association UK tour at Praa Sands, Cornwall. The date set for this inaugural event will be flexible between 28th October and 3rd November surf dependant, the first call will be made on Thursday 26th at midday.
New Headworx English Junior Surf Team
The Headworx English Surf Team, which will compete at the 2006 European Junior Championships in Galicia, NW Spain on the 10th-20th November has been announced. The English Surfing Federation selected the 14 representatives across a range of levels including shortboard, longboard and bodyboarding.
Results - 2006 O’Neill Cold Water Classic
Toby Martin (Sydney, Aus.) won the O'Neill Cold Water Classic presented by Jeep yesterday in pumping overhead surf at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, California. This World Qualifying Series (WQS) four-star event and the Oakley Pro Junior North American Championships narrowed their respective competitor fields down to the final 16.
FINAL RESULTS: THE 2006 ISA WORLD SURFING GAMES
The 2006 Lost Energy ISA World Surfing Games concluded yesterday with one of the closest final point scores in the Games history with team Australia winning the World Champion title with a total point score of 15,848. Brazil took the silver medal with a total of 15,123 followed by USA winning the bronze with 14,505 points and South Africa garnering the bronze with 13,346. The nine day event brought together 33 countries and over 300 surfers, some who came with full teams and others were proud to participate on behalf of their respective countries alone.
Jordy Smith Wins ISA World Surfing Games
Last night Jordy Smith added another world title to his already incredible and lengthy list of victories, this time at the 21st ISA World Surfing Games in Huntington Beach, CA, USA.
World Championship Tour hits Onbongo
The Onbongo leg of the men's World Championship Tour is being held on Itamambuca beach in Ubatuba this year, just north of São Paulo. The event will take place between 24-28th October with some fierce surf action expected.
2006 Hyundai National Surfing Championships
The 2007 Hyundai National Surfing Championships will be held in Taranaki, New Zealand in January and hosted by Oakura Boardriders. The event is set to take place from the 13th–20th January and will be the second event of the Corona Crown – New Zealand’s premier domestic competition. The event is regarded by many as the pinnacle domestic surfing event and as such attracts in excess of 300 entries from the length and breadth of the country.
