2006 Hyundai National Surfing Championships
The 2007 Hyundai National Surfing Championships will be held in Taranaki, New Zealand in January and hosted by Oakura Boardriders. The event is set to take place from the 13th–20th January and will be the second event of the Corona Crown – New Zealand’s premier domestic competition. The event is regarded by many as the pinnacle domestic surfing event and as such attracts in excess of 300 entries from the length and breadth of the country.

La Santa Surf Pro Contest
The expected perfect waves weren’t appearing yesterday morning for the kick off of the La Santa Surf Pro, but some good clean lefthanders were still on offer for the best seeded surfers’ start. With the sky slowly rising from behind the cliffs, the light made the line up beautiful with the first four coloured men ready to open the battle. Kirk Flintoff (Aus), former WCT member, was facing three dangerous fresh surfers Arthur Bourbon (Glp), Vincent Duvignac (Fra) and Matt Wilkinson (Aus).
British Kneeboard Surfing Championships 2006
This weekend (21st October) will see a top section of national and international kneeboarder talent descending on Fistral Beach, Newquay, for the 2006 British Kneeboard Surfing Championships, sponsored by Thule Roofracks. Last year’s event saw riders from Australia, South Africa and Portugal as well as from across the UK and with a strong swell predicted for the weekend, some awesome action is in store.
O’Neill Cold Water Classic Surfing Action
The surf kicked up a notch and the top-seeded competitors raised the level of competition yesterday at day three of the O’Neill Cold Water Classic presented by Jeep. The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) four-star event opened up in clean 3-4 foot waves yesterday morning at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, California.
Lost Energy Drink ISA World Surfing Games
Day four of the 2006 Lost Energy Drink ISA World Surfing Games was greeted with conditions that waveriders dream about with warm water, sunny skies and head-high to overhead waves for the Open Repercharge Rounds 2 and 3, Bodyboard Men Repercharge 2 and Bodyboard Women divisions. Consistent barrels fired throughout the competition day resulting in a battle between all contenders to paddle for position, pull in deeper and execute combinations to win over their opponents.
Vodafone Surf Sessions
The superstars of international surfing will team up for a public signing session today in Auckland ahead of the 2006 Vodafone Surf Sessions in Piha on Saturday (21st October).
Open Men’s Division 2006 ISA World Surfing Games
Day two of the 2006 Lost Energy Drink ISA World Surfing Games took place yesterday with the Men’s Open division where the top surfers of the world displayed tremendous talent amongst the 33 competing countries. All the competitors set their best foot forward with a constant execution of explosive tricks despite the slow sections within the 2 to 4 foot waves.
Oakley Pro Junior National Championships
The top North American junior professional surfers are set to compete at the Pro Junior National Championships being held at the 2006 O'Neill Coldwater Classic at Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, Calif. The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) North America Grade 2 Oakley Pro Junior will take place October 20-22nd, 2006.
