
The second stop of the Blowfish Series went down under sunny skies, off shore wind and fun ripple chest high peaks at Oceanside Harbor, California on 25 - 26 November. Just over 120 competitors showed their faces Saturday morning to throw down in the water, get dirty on the beach and stuff their face with Chipotle burritos.

A victorious Sam Lamiroy consolidated one of the best years of his career this weekend when he was crowned British Surfing Champion for the second time at the O’Neill British Surf Championships in Devon.

The ‘Parko’, developed over six months by the Kustom product and sales & marketing teams in co-operation with team rider Parkinson, pays tribute to the boardriding club that kick-started his competitive career.

After surfing for two days in poorly formed small waves, a local surfer very familiar with the Playa Avellanas point break in Costa Rica was able to use his experience to come out ahead of 77 registered competitors in this weekend’s Pinilla Classic. That surfer was Tamarindo’s Isaac Vega, the 2005-06 Costa Rican National Surf Champion, who also won this very same date of the Circuito Nacional de Surf (CNS) last year.

It has been five years since Sunset Beach surfer Myles Padaca reached the pinnacle of his pro surfing career with a win here in the O'Neill World Cup of Surfing and subsequently a Vans Triple Crown of Surfing title. Now 35, Padaca's intimate knowledge of this challenging break is once again bringing him back to surfing's center-stage.

With very promising forecasts, Santa Marina Gigante - the first big wave contest of the season in Spain - has been announced for Tuesday 28 November 2006. The venue is the classic righthand reef of Santa Marina, located at an island in Somo (Cantabria). Expected wave faces at this spot on next tuesday range between 12-20ft.

Daniel Kereopa (Tainui) has reclaimed the Auahi Kore Maori Titles at his home break of Raglan today (Sunday). In messy 1.0m waves at Manu Bay, New Zealand, Kereopa showed just how well he knows the break with a come from behind win in the last 30 second of the Billabong Open Men’s division final. Kereopa has not held the title since 2003 when he last won the event which was held in the Taranaki region. Today his determination was evident in the finals and he wanted redemption for his earlier second place finish in the longboard division.
