First 2007 World Tour Event Gets Ready to Kick Off
We are now under 10 days and counting. The launch of another Tour year is upon us, there of course has already been solid action on the WQS front, but the major league is about to enter the fray for the season launch of the Foster’s Men’s World Tour and the ASP Women’s Tour. Coleborn Wins back-to-back Billabong Pro Junior Surf Events
It has been a whirlwind of ups and downs the last two weeks for Sunshine Coast surfer Mitch Coleborn. Four days after winning the Billabong Pro Junior Series event on home turf on the Sunshine Coast, the 19-year-old has lost a swag of worldly possessions, including his contest winning “dream” board, his laptop, clothes and his wallet after thieves stole his car from Duranbah Beach on the Gold Coast.
Kereopa Snatches Victory at Hyundai Pro Longboard Open
The Hyundai Pro Longboard Open Men’s final was won by Daniel Kereopa from Raglan in Christchurch, New Zealand, this weekend. Kereopa left nothing to chance as he picked off two long left hand waves. Combining power and finesse he clinched the title with a combination score of 15.50. The win extends Kereopa’s lead in the Hyundai Pro Longboard Tour with just two events to run.
Slater & Burrow confirmed for Boost Mobile Surf Show
Eight-time world champion Kelly Slater (USA) is set to launch aerial surfing to new heights with an innovative game show format at the Boost Mobile Surf Show. The event, presented by LG, will be taking place at Surfers Paradise Beach in April ’07. Slater, who revolutionised aerial surfing, will headline the interactive style surf show format that will attract an international field of the world ’s top aerial surfers. All vying for AU$30,000 prize money.
