
After last year’s record-breaking number of 200 starters and over 450 Season Opening-Guests, the German-University-Surfing-Championships (ADH) will once again take place at Seignosse, France.

The eight remaining Foster’s ASP World Tour surfers contesting the Billabong Pro Tahiti did not compete yesterday, Tuesday, May 17, 2007. An extension of the event waiting period was enacted to expand the Billabong Pro Tahiti contest window until today, May 16, when a new swell is forecasted to arrive.

Billabong is continuing its valuable support of junior surfing by establishing a three-stage Pro Junior Series in Indonesia. Set to begin at the end of May, the Billabong Pro Junior Series is widely recognized as the premiere career launch pad for surfers aged 20/U. The inception of an Indonesian leg will now extend the opportunity for a wider field of competitors an aspiring professionals.

The Headworx English National Surfing Champs came to a climax in Watergate Bay, Cornwall this weekend. Day three was an epic climax to the Headworx English Nationals. With the swell increasing overnight, the men’s open kicked off in six to eight foot conditions, with the other divisions moved to nearby Tolcarne. The surf was challenging, forcing the UK’s best riders to dig deep in their quest for the Headworx English crown.
