Quiksilver King of the Groms World Final Starts Today
The final of the Quiksilver King of the Groms kicks off today in Capbreton, France, and the line-up for this international surfing competition is starting to take shape. The 2007 King of the Groms final will take place from Tuesday July 31st, until Sunday August 5th at the SANTOCHA Beach in Capbreton, France.

Gravis Footwear Signs Ian Walsh to Surf Team
At the young age of 23, the Maui native has established himself as an extremely well respected big wave and contest surfer. Known as one of the youngest surfers to ride Jaws, in 2004 Walsh was rewarded with a second place win in Billabong’s XXL award for his 68-foot wave.
Surfing Year Book Website in the Pipeline
Publisher Surfersvillage has announced that the much-anticipated Surfing Year Book will have its own website by the end of July. The new site will include previews of the book, to be published early in 2008, along with interviews with the publishing team, contests and the chance to win plenty of surfing goodies. Surfersvillage CEO Bruce Boal said that the new site would encourage surfers from all over the world to enter into a dialogue with the editorial team so that their voice can be heard too.

Big Scores and Better Surf for Round 2 of Honda US Open
The Honda U.S. Open of Surfing presented by O'Neill kicked off Round 2 competition Tuesday morning in improved two-to-four-foot (1 metre) South swell at Huntington Beach Pier. The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star event enjoyed sunny skies and huge scores as competitors let loose in the improved, peaky conditions.

Only the set waves were big enough to break far enough off the rocks to provide a performance platform, but with a hundred metre run to link ones repertoire together, there was ample stage for the world’s best to strut their stuff at this fabled surfing icon.
