Fly into Bilbao and you are only 15 minutes from the waves of Sopelana and Bakio. Menakos is a big wave spot in Sopelana to challenge even the most experienced surfers and holds up to 15ft. The beachbreaks of Sopelana are the most consistent and surfed waves in the area, especially on the weekends. Around half an hour’s drive to the East is the world famous rivermouth left of Mundaka.
