Ericeira, Portugal

Surf profile

Nestling on the Atlantic coast a short drive north of Lisbon, Ericeira is one of Europe’s premiere surfing destinations, with a high density of quality surf-spots.

This stretch of coast, no more than a few kilometers long, is crammed with world class reef and point breaks and, as such, can also be crammed with surfers. However there are so many waves to choose from, you can usually grab some space to yourself.

Try catching some waves at Ribeira d’Ilhas Beach, between Ericeira and Ribamar, or try out some of Portugal's best surfing breaks at nearby Coxos and Pedra Branca.
