Thurso is on the northern tip of Scotland and has one of the fastest barrelling waves in the world (recently voted in the top 10 waves in Europe). Add to that a small extremely friendly group of local surfers who make it a pleasant place to be at low tide and you’ve got a great surfing experience. Best conditions are with southerly swell and low-mid tide. But beware, the average water temp is a chilly 10°c.
